This decorative silver sugar caster and milk jug are a delightful way to enjoy your opulent vintage tea parties!
During the 19th century silver tea sets became a must have for any fashionable family in Britain – think Downton Abbey or Bridgerton without needing the extreme wealth! Many of these exquisitely-made pieces have stood the test of time, and continued to be adoured and coveted through the years. This two piece set is no exception.
Set in hallmarked silver dated 1929, this set features a intricately decorative and good quality sugar caster. It is baluster shaped with a pierced floral detachable lid. The body has a lovely smooth finish, with fluted detailing to the top. The jug also has a lovely smooth silver finish, and again features fluted detailing to the top edge. They both stand on a rising circular foot and are in a very good original condition. The set comes complete in it’s original wood effect box and sits in pre-cut cut outs surrounded by light-coloured rouched fabric.
The quality and craftsmanship of this set will add a wonderful sense of occasion to your vintage event, or just when you want to create the feeling of a grand occasion at home!
